lower the lamb ‘cos too much of a good thing…

Is your pet getting too friendly with the lamb?

June 13, 2021

Mary had a little lamb. But how much did your pet have?

We know how essential meat is to pet meals. C’mon, who would if we didn’t? We’re literally making them for your pawfect furbaby.

Chicken, fish, lamb are all super choices to ensure wholesome health for cats and dogs. These are the meats we use at Pawfectly Made too! But while chicken and fish are more or less no-fuss, lamb can be tricky.

Lamb is a rich meat with high fat and cholesterol content, which doesn’t really spell healthiness when taken in large quantities. It can cause sickness, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, hard stools or other serious health problems of digestion or the heart.

For pets, as for hoomans, overindulging in lamb is not a good idea.

Don’t get us wrong. Lamb has a lot of good nutrient-rich stuff too, including omega fatty acids, antioxidants, protein, vitamin B12 and iron.

It is also a tasty meat. Agreed. But too much of a good thing… you know how it goes. So best not fall for those naughty puppy eyes when your pet wants more lamb.

For the sake of your pet’s health, we carefully portion and customise the meals and ingredients per their needs. We recommend restricting lamb meals to 3-4 times a week and alternating with other meats when necessary.

And anyway, when Pawfectly has other exciting options besides lamb for your furbaby, it ain’t no thang at all. Scroll through our droolworthy recipes made with human-grade, fresh, safe meats and order what your little cutie will best enjoy!
