Did you know how good they are?

Eggshells for egg-stra health!

February 8, 2021

Not only are they good, but they are actually GREAT for your fur baby!

While dogs in the wild get their calcium from eggs when they raid nests and from their prey’s bones, in the domesticated fresh pet food diet that we give them, they fail to get his all-important nutrient!

Here is when eggshells come to our rescue! Should probably say “are absolutely essential!” Adding some eggshells to your furbaby's fresh and homemade food provides your pupper with just the right dose of calcium to get them through the day and also helps in preventing arthritis.

And we’re it’s not just us not saying that - research is! A study conducted on eggshells in 2003 at the National Institute of Rheumatic Diseases in Piestany, Slovak Republic showed that eating eggshells can prevent and treat arthritis and osteoporosis in humans and animals. So if your pet suffers from any of these, start them on eggshells immediately, along with their fresh, homemade and home cooked pet food..

But eggs do come with the danger of salmonella and to avoid this at Pawfectly Made, we boil the eggs for 20-25 minutes before adding them to your cutie’s fresh and homemade meal. So the next time you spot slivers of eggshell in your pet’s Pawfectly made meal, know that we’re ensuring that your pets are getting their daily dose of calcium, along with their fresh, homemade, human grade meals!
